10.16.010 Definitions.

As used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall have the meanings set out in this section:

"Business district" means the territory contiguous to a highway or street when fifty percent or more of the frontage thereon for a distance of six hundred feet or more on one side, or three hundred feet or more on both sides, is occupied by buildings used for business.

"Residence district" means the territory contiguous to a highway or street not comprising a business district when the frontage on such highway for a distance of three hundred feet or more is mainly occupied by dwellings or by dwellings and buildings used for business.

10.16.020 Residential districts.

Any speed in excess of twenty miles per hour in a residence district shall be prima facie evidence of violation of ORS 483.102 as adopted by Chapter 10.04.

10.16.030 Violation--Penalty.

Any person operating a motor vehicle in violation of the terms of this chapter or in violation of the terms of Chapter 10.04, upon conviction of violation of any provision of this chapter, shall be subject to punishment by a fine pursuant to Section 1.20.020 of this code.
