Tax Certification Fee

§1-601 Definitions.

For the purpose of this Part, the following terms are defined as follows:

Certification - a document under seal of the Treasurer of the Township certifying that payment of real estate taxes due to the Township have been paid for a specifically enumerated period of years.

Taxes - any and all taxes, of whatsoever type or nature which, by law, are to be collected by the Treasurer.

Treasurer - the duly elected or appointed Treasurer and Tax Collector of the Township.

§1-602 Tax Certification Fee.

1.    The Board of Supervisors recognize that from time to time the Treasurer is requested to provide a certification of payment of taxes due the Township under seal.

2.    The Board of Supervisors further realize that the Treasurer has no statutory or other duty to provide said certifications when requested, that said certifications are customarily provided as a convenience to residents of the Township, title companies, title abstractors and members of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

3.    The Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes the Treasurer to charge a fee in an amount to be established from time to time by resolution of the Board of Supervisors for his services in the preparation of said certifications
