PARKING REGULATIONS

6-2-2:    PARKING OR BLOCKING STREETS OR HIGHWAYS

6-2-4:    PENALTY

6-2-1 UNLAWFUL PARKING:

A.    It shall be unlawful for any vehicle except emergency vehicles to park any vehicle on any city street in violation of Huntington City Code.

B.    Parking on all city streets shall be done within twelve inches (12") of the curb. On city streets wider than fifty feet (50'), angle parking shall be allowed as long as vehicle is within twelve inches (12") of curb.

C.    It is unlawful to park any vehicle on any city street from which merchandise is peddled unless said vehicle owner is properly licensed by the city and the city has authorized such action.

D.    It shall be unlawful for any unregistered or inoperable vehicle to be parked on any city street. (Ord. 7-2021, 12-15-21)

6-2-2 PARKING OR BLOCKING STREETS OR HIGHWAYS:

In addition to the parking provisions contained in the Utah traffic code, it shall be unlawful for any person to:

A.    Remain standing, lying or sitting on any street or highway in such a manner as to obstruct the free passage of vehicular or pedestrian traffic thereon.

B.    To park in such a way that would obstruct normal traffic on any city street. (Ord. 7-2021, 12-15-21; Ord. 2-2017, 4-19-2017)

6-2-3 CAMPERS, TRAILERS, BOATS RESTRICTED:

It shall be a violation of city codes for any person to park or leave standing on any public road or street, any camper, trailer, boat, motor home or other recreational vehicle for more than seven (7) days and any vehicle so parked and left standing may be subject to impoundment. 6-2-4 PENALTY:

Unless otherwise provided, any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction and, upon conviction thereof, subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. (2007 Code)
