1.10.010 Nonprimary elections.

A.    The ordinance codified in this section shall be the “nonprimary ordinance of Manila Town.”

B.    The purpose of this section is to ensure nonprimary elections within the municipality. [Ord. 6-2-83.]

1.10.020 Candidates for municipal office.

A.    Election for mayor and council members shall be conducted according to Sections 20A-9-404(1) and (2), Utah Code Annotated 1953, municipal elections.

B.    This section provides for the candidates for mayor and council members to be nominated at a primary election if required. A primary election will be held only when the number of candidates filing for an office exceeds twice the number to be elected. The candidates nominated at the primary election plus candidates that were not required to run in the primary are to be placed on the November ballot. [Ord. 4-13-95 §§ 1, 2.]
