4-7-101 Creation of Department.

There is hereby created a Public Works Department which shall consist of a Director and such other employees as shall be provided for by the City Council.

4-7-102 Duties of Director.

The Director of the Public Works Department shall have the following duties and responsibilities:

(1)    Planning, coordination, supervision and provision of direction for the various program activities of the department, including engineering, streets, and storm drainage, solid waste, water and sewer, wastewater treatment and parks and cemeteries.

(2)    Supervision of the work of all consultants and contractors on public works and capital construction projects.

(3)    Preparation and administration of the public works department budget and the capital improvement fund budget under the direction of the City Council.

(4)    Supervision of construction of all public works and capital construction projects to assure that the same are built according to plans and specifications.
