6.08.010 Keeping of animals prohibited—Exceptions.

It is unlawful to keep any animals, except for chickens in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 6.12 of this code, dogs and cats, within the city limits. (Ord. 864 § 2 (part), 2015: Ord. 317 § 1, 1972)

6.08.020 Exceptions to be granted by city council.

The city council reserves the right and declares that certain exceptions to this chapter may be granted to permit the staging of a rodeo show, horse racing meet, or other community activity which may warrant the lifting of the restrictions of this chapter for the benefit of the citizens, visitors, tourists, and guests of the community. Any exception granted by the city council shall only pertain to the particular event to which the exception vote of the council clearly pertains. (Ord. 864 § 2 (part), 2015: Ord. 317 § 3, 1972)

6.08.030 Violation—Penalty.

A violation of any provision of this chapter shall subject the violator to a maximum monetary civil penalty of two hundred fifty dollars for the first offense and a maximum monetary civil penalty of five hundred dollars for each subsequent offense committed within a twelve-month period.
