SCHOOL ZONES AND MID-BLOCK CROSSWALKS

10.10.010 School zones.

The following areas are established as school speed restriction zones in the city, in addition to those previously established in the city, and the city public works director is authorized to provide appropriate signage of these school speed restriction zone areas:

A. Indian Avenue West from the intersection of 5th Street South to Bridge Street South.

B. 4th Street South from the intersection of Indian Avenue West to the intersection of Hanson Avenue West.

C. Hanson Avenue West from the intersection of 5th Street South to Bridge Street South. (Ord. 880 § 1 (part), 2016)

10.10.020 Mid-block crosswalks.

To promote pedestrian safety in the city, certain mid-block crosswalks are established and the city public works director is authorized to provide appropriate signage to enable operators of motor vehicles to be aware that pedestrians may be present in these non-intersection crosswalks. The mid-block crosswalks established pursuant to this chapter are in addition to any previously established and existing mid-block crosswalks in the city. The following mid-block crosswalks are established:

A. On 4th Street South mid-block between Indian Avenue West and Hanson Avenue West.

B. On West Griggs Avenue between South 7th Street and 5th Street South. (Ord. 880 § 1 (part), 2016)

10.10.030 Enforcement, violation and penalties.

The city police department and other law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction shall enforce the provisions of this chapter in accordance with state laws and the penalties for violation of the provisions established in this chapter shall be the infraction and monetary fines set forth in the then current state-determined bail schedule for such infractions.
