16.16.010 Uniform Plumbing Code.

The city adopts by reference the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code and UPC Standards, excluding appendices and excluding Chapter 12, as published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials and as now or hereafter amended by the Washington State Building Code Council, subject to the amendments contained in this chapter; provided, that nothing in this code shall apply to the installation of any gas piping or vents for water heaters which are under the jurisdiction of the UMC. 16.16.020 UPC appendices.

The following appendices of the Uniform Plumbing Code are adopted: Appendix A and Appendix H. (Ord. 23-98 § 6, 1998).

16.16.035 UPC Section 1101.1, “Where Required,” amended.

Section 1101.1, “Where Required,” is amended to delete authority to use a combined sewer system where a separate storm sewer system is not available. Stormwater may not be discharged into the sanitary sewer system. (Ord. 23-98 § 6, 1998).

16.16.040 Chapter 12, “Fuel Piping,” deleted.

Chapter 12, “Fuel Piping,” is deleted. (Ord. 23-98 § 6, 1998).

16.16.050 UPC Section 101.4.1.4, “Conflicts Between Codes,” deleted.

Section 101.4.1.4, “Conflicts Between Codes,” in the Uniform Plumbing Code is deleted in its entirety. (Ord. 23-98 § 6, 1998).

16.16.060 UPC Section 102.3.2, “Penalties,” deleted.

Section 102.3.2, entitled “Penalties” of the Uniform Plumbing Code is deleted. (Ord. 23-98 § 6, 1998).

16.16.070 UPC Section 305.3, “Sewers Required,” amended.

Section 305.3 of the Uniform Plumbing Code is amended to read:

In areas not served by sanitary sewers as specified by Section 305 of the UPC, septic tanks and drain fields conforming to the most currently adopted rules and regulations of the Pierce County Board of Health shall be installed. Approval of such systems must be obtained from Pierce County Department of Health prior to installation.
