2.36.010 State Act adopted.

Each of the members of the volunteer fire department of the town of Concrete shall be enrolled under the relief and compensation provisions of this chapter for the purpose of providing protection for all firemen and their families for death or disability arising in the performance of their duties as firemen, and the provisions of the State Act, being Chapter 41.24 RCW, and Chapter 261 of Laws of 1945 of the state of Washington, as amended, are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. 2.36.020 Annual fees.

There shall be paid into the State Treasury Trust Fund for the benefit of firemen an annual amount equal to the state charge for disability fee for each member of the Concrete volunteer fire department, to be paid by the town of Concrete; and an annual amount equal to the state charge for pension fee for each fireman electing to enroll therein, one-half of which shall be paid by the town of Concrete, and one-half of which shall be paid by the fireman. 2.36.030 Board of trustees established.

There is hereby created a board of trustees to administer this Act, which shall be composed of five members. The board shall consist of the mayor, who shall be chairman of the board; the town clerk-treasurer, who shall be secretary of the board; one council member appointed by the remaining council members; the chief of the Concrete volunteer fire department; and one member of the Concrete volunteer fire department to be elected by its members annually. 2.36.040 Duties of board.

The members of the board of trustees shall receive no compensation for their service on the board, and they shall meet upon call of the chairman whenever necessary. The board shall hear applications of firemen or their families for relief under this chapter, and shall determine the same, and certify the findings to the State Board charged with the duty of administering the State Act. Disability payments and death benefits to the firemen and their families shall be in such amounts as are now or may hereafter be provided for in the State Act providing for volunteer firemen’s pensions and benefits. 2.36.050 Members of legislative bodies authorized to serve.

Pursuant to RCW 35.21.770 and 35.21.772 the town of Concrete town council authorizes any of its members, approved on a case-by-case basis by resolution, to also serve as volunteer firefighters and to receive the same compensation, insurance and other benefits as are applicable to other volunteer firefighters employed by the town.
