WORK SCHEDULE FOR CERTAIN PERSONNEL

2.72.010 Tour of duty designated.

The tour of duty of police and law enforcement employees and fully paid regular fire protection personnel, if any, of the city shall be twenty-eight consecutive days, and the city shall pay extra compensation at the rate of one-and-one-half times the regular rate for any such employee whose tour or tours of duty in aggregate exceed two hundred forty hours during the twenty-eight consecutive-day period, with like extra compensation for any tour or tours of duty of at least seven but less than twenty-eight days for hours which bear the same ratio to the number of consecutive days as two hundred forty hours bears to twenty-eight days. 2.72.020 Limitations.

The personnel or administrative officer of the city police department will endeavor as nearly as possible to limit the hours of employees to a schedule of five work shifts of eight hours a day, with two shifts off work each calendar week, for an average of forty hours per calendar week, but in any event the work period shall be not less than a full seven-day calendar week as permitted and provided by RCW 49.46.130.
