BUILDING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT

11.40.010 Responsibilities.
The building and planning department shall have the following responsibilities:
(1) To review all development permits including street and drainage construction plans to ensure conformance with the appropriate provisions of the Connell Municipal Code (CMC) and those additional standards adopted by the code.
(2) To inspect or direct inspection by third parties the construction of all development improvements to ensure conformance with the appropriate provisions of the CMC and those additional standards adopted by the code.
(3) To regularly update the comprehensive plan.
(4) To regularly update the street standards with the concurrence of the public works department.
(5) To regularly recommend updates to the Eastern Washington Stormwater Manual with the concurrence of the public works department.
(6) To make recommendations concerning proposed changes and amendments to zoning regulations.
(7) To ensure compliance with Chapter 15.08, Flood Hazard Regulations.
(8) To coordinate the review of development projects for transportation concurrency as defined by Chapter 17.27.
(9) To administer the provisions of the building codes adopted by the city council.
(10) To make recommendations concerning amendments to the adopted building codes.
(11) To enforce the provisions of the nuisance ordinances in conformance with the requirements of Chapter 7.06.
(12) To advise the planning commission and city council where appropriate concerning matters relating to any of the above. (Ord. 917 § 1 (part), 2012).
