3.10.010 Social security coverage.

(1) It is hereby declared to be the policy and purpose of the Cross Valley Water District to extend the provisions of RCW 41.48.030, providing social security coverage to eligible employees of the Cross Valley Water District.

(2) Withholdings from salaries or wages of employees for the purposes provided in subsection (1) of this section are hereby authorized to be made in the amounts and at such times as may be required by applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and shall be paid to the Internal Revenue Service, in such amounts and at such times as are designated in 26 U.S.C. Sections 3121(b)(7)(E) and 3126.

(3) Employer contributions shall be paid from amounts appropriated for such purposes to the Internal Revenue Service in accordance with applicable federal laws.

(4) Cross Valley Water District shall maintain such records and submit such reports as may be required by applicable state and federal laws or regulations.

(5) The board of commissioners of Cross Valley Water District of Snohomish County, Washington, does hereby approve the agreement to extend social security coverage to eligible employees, effective August 1, 1991, and authorizes the general manager to complete all required paperwork to implement the coverage. 3.10.020 Public employees’ retirement system.

Cross Valley Water District, a political subdivision of the state of Washington, hereby authorizes and approves the participation and membership of its eligible employees in the Washington Public Employees’ Retirement System pursuant to Section 13, Chapter 291, Laws of 1961, and RCW 41.40.410; and authorizes the expenditure of the necessary funds to cover its proportionate share for such participation in the system. Membership in the Washington Public Employees’ Retirement System shall commence as of August 1, 1991. [Res. 2018-10-4; Res. 1991-7-1. Formerly 3.25.010.]

3.10.030 Deferred compensation program.

(1) The Cross Valley Water District requests approval by the Department of Retirement Systems, Deferred Compensation Program to participate in the aforementioned deferred compensation plan for the employees of the Cross Valley Water District, subject to the requirements of RCW 41.50.770 and Chapter 415-501 WAC.

(2) The board of commissioners of Cross Valley Water District hereby authorizes a two percent match of base employee wages to any district employee that also contributes at least two percent of base wages to the DRS Deferred Compensation Program subject to any plan and/or IRS rule limitations.
