HITCHING RIDES ON TRAINS

9.24.010 Unlawful.

It is unlawful for any person, not a passenger or in company with a passenger, to get on or off, or attempt to get on or off, in any manner, any railroad engine, tender or car of any description, whether the same or either of them be in motion, while such engine, tender or car, is within the limits of the city; provided, this section shall not apply to any employee of any railroad when in the discharge of his duties as such; nor to any person who boards a passenger train for the purpose of meeting or assisting in the departure of any passenger, while the train is at a standstill at a regular station.
