10.16.005 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to implement RCW 46.08.175 and allow creation of golf cart zones within the county. (Ord. TLS 11-05-30B (part). Formerly 18.73.005)

10.16.010 Definitions.

As used in this chapter:

A.    “Golf cart” shall have the meaning ascribed at RCW 46.04.1945.

B.    “Golf cart zone” means an area established by the board of county commissioners within which the incidental operation of golf carts equipped pursuant to RCW 46.08.175(8) is permitted on county roads. (Ord. TLS 11-05-30B (part). Formerly 18.73.010)

10.16.020 Creation by board of county commissioners.

The board of county commissioners shall consider petitions to create golf cart zones. The petition shall describe the proposed golf cart zone with particularity and be signed by a majority of all property owners within the proposed golf cart zone. The petition shall be accompanied by the fee prescribed by the transportation and land services fee schedule. The proposed golf cart zone shall be reviewed by the county engineer and the sheriff, who shall report to the board on the advisability of creating the proposed golf cart zone. The petitioners shall reimburse the county for all publication and mailing expenses incurred and all required signage labor and materials as a condition of approval. (Ord. TLS 11-05-30B (part). 10.16.030 Lake Entiat Estates.

The Lake Entiat Estates golf cart zone is hereby established, having the following boundaries:

Suncove Road to Suncove Drive to Beach Drive.

The Lake Entiat Estates golf cart zone established by this section is subject to the board of county commissioners continuing its existence by further ordinance. (Ord. TLS 12-11-35B: Ord. TLS 11-05-30B (part). Formerly 18.73.030)

10.16.090 Effective date.

The original effective date of this chapter shall be October 25, 2011. (Ord. TLS 11-05-30B (part). Formerly 18.73.090)

10.16.100 Severability.

In the event that any provision of the ordinance codified in this chapter is held to be invalid, the remainder of this chapter or the application of such provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected and shall be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent allowed by law.
