Animals Prohibited as Household Pets

7.04.010 Prohibited animals.
The following animals may not be kept in the City of DuPont:
(a) Livestock and other farm animals and fowl (for specific exemptions see Chapters 7.16 and 7.17 DMC).
(b) All species of animals whose members exist in the wild state, including dangerous and poisonous reptiles and serpents, but not including feral domestic animals.
(c) Violation of this chapter is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment in the County jail for a maximum term fixed by the court of not more than 90 days, or by a fine in an amount fixed by the court of not more than $1,000, or by both such imprisonment and fine.
(d) An animal prohibited in this chapter being kept within the City of DuPont is subject to impoundment at the owner’s expense. (Ord. 98-619; Ord. 15-1001 § 2).
