MILITARY LANDS

25.57.010 Purpose.
The purpose of the military lands designation is to recognize the portion of the federal military installation within the DuPont city limits. The autonomy associated with the federal ownership in combination with the unique character of the military operations and support structures is not typical of civilian land uses. Military lands are designated on the land use map but land uses within the installation are not governed by the city. (Ord. 17-1017 § 2 (Exh. B); Ord. 02-707 § 1)
25.57.020 Military base commander notification required.
All amendments to the city’s comprehensive plan and development regulations affecting lands adjacent to the military lands (MIL) zoning district require notification to the commander of Joint Base Lewis McChord Military Base. (Ord. 17-1017 § 2 (Exh. B))
