2.24.010 Created--Membership.

There is created a library board for the city which shall consist of such membership as may be from time to time established by action of the council. (Ord. 1007 §1, 1999: Ord. 257 §1, 1928).

2.24.020 Management and control of city library.

The library board shall have such advisory responsibilities as may be designated from time to time by the mayor with the approval of the city council. (Ord. 838 §5, 1987: Ord. 257 §2, 1928).

2.24.030 Management and control of city library--Establishment of rules and regulations.

The library board may make such recommendations, including but not limited to such rules and regulations for the management and control of the library as they shall deem expedient from time to time. (Ord. 838 §6, 1987: Ord. 257 §3, 1928).

2.24.040 Appointment of members.

The members of the library board shall be appointed by the mayor and city council. (Ord. 257 §4, 1928).

2.24.050 Term of office--Oath.

The terms of such members shall be four years; but the first board appointed shall hold office as follows: two members shall be appointed who shall hold office until the first Monday in January, 1930, and three members shall be appointed who shall hold office until the first Monday in January, 1932, but thereafter members shall be appointed for terms of four years each. All members shall hold office for the terms or until their successors have been appointed, and shall qualify by the taking of the constitutional oath. (Ord. 257 §5, 1928).

2.24.070 Appointment of subcommittees.

The library board may appoint such subcommittees as it shall see fit. (Ord. 257 §7, 1928).

2.24.080 Members to serve without compensation.

No member of the library board shall receive compensation for such services. (Ord. 257 §8, 1928).
