CLAIMS FUND

3.14.010 Created.

There is created a fund known and designated as the "claims fund," into which shall be paid and transferred from the various departments and offices an amount of money equal to the various invoices due various vendors for materials, supplies, or services. (Ord. 665 §1, 1978).

3.14.020 Transfer of funds.

Whenever it is deemed necessary, the city clerk-treasurer is authorized, empowered and directed to transfer from the funds of the various departments and offices, to the claims fund, sufficient moneys to pay the obligations of the various city departments and offices. (Ord. 665 §2, 1978).

3.14.030 Use of fund.

The claims fund shall be used and payment therefrom shall be made only for the purpose of paying approved invoices, materials and supplies to firms, or individuals or organizations, entitled to such payments. (Ord. 665 §3, 1978).

3.14.040 Issuance of warrants by clerk-treasurer.

The city clerk-treasurer is authorized, empowered and directed to issue warrants on and against said fund for payments authorized by Section 3.14.030. Said warrants shall be issued only after there have been filed with the city clerk-treasurer proper invoices, due bills, or vouchers approved by the city council stating the nature of the services rendered, the amount due or owing, and the person entitled thereto. All warrants issued on or against said funds shall be solely and only for the purposes herein set forth and shall be payable only out of and from said fund. Each warrant issued under the provisions of this chapter shall have printed upon its face the words "Claims Fund." (Ord. 665 §4, 1978).

3.14.050 Transfers from an insolvent fund.

Transfers from an insolvent fund to the claims fund shall be by warrant. (Ord. 665 §5, 1978).
