2.10.010 Regular council meeting frequency and days.

The council of the city of Entiat shall hold two regular meetings per month. These regular meetings shall be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. (Ord. 778 § 1, 2018; Ord. 324 § 1, 1985)

2.10.020 Time of regular meetings.

The regular meetings of the city council of Entiat shall commence at 6:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month; provided, however, there shall be no regular scheduled meeting on the fourth Thursday of December, and the second regular meeting in November shall be held on the fourth Tuesday of that month at 5:00 p.m. These meetings shall be held in the city council chambers unless otherwise posted. 2.10.030 Time of work and study sessions.

The city council shall commence a work and study session the second Thursday of each month as needed. The work and study session shall be held at 5:00 p.m. in the city council chambers unless otherwise posted.

Work and study sessions will be limited to review of resource materials, meeting with educational resources, and general discussion of these in relationship to the issue to be dealt with at the upcoming meeting.

Members of the public may attend these work sessions, and the city council will be under obligation to locally post announcements as a special meeting at least 24 hours prior to these work sessions. (Ord. 849 § 2, 2022; Ord. 815 § 2, 2020; Ord. 782, 2018)

2.10.040 Special meetings.

Special meetings of the council of the city of Entiat may be held in addition to, but not in place of, regular meetings. The mayor or a majority of the council may call a special meeting by 24 hours’ written notice to the mayor and all other council members, stating the purpose of the meeting, as well as time and place. In event of emergency, threatening life or property in the community, the 24 hours’ notice requirement may be waived.

Action may be taken during special meetings only on those items specified as the purpose of the meeting in the written notice. No ordinance or resolution shall be passed, or contract let or entered into, or bill for the payment of money allowed at any special meeting unless public notice of such meeting has been given to each local newspaper of general circulation and to each local radio or television station, as provided in RCW 42.30.080, as now or hereafter amended. 2.10.050 Adjournment of meetings.

When the council wishes to adjourn a regular or special meeting to a later time, or when there is not a quorum sufficient to conduct the business before the council, the meeting may be adjourned to a later date and/or time. The date, time, and place to which the meeting is adjourned shall be set at adjournment and posted on or near the door to the Council Chambers. (Ord. 778 § 4, 2018)
