2.10.010 Offices of clerk and treasurer combined – Appointment procedure.

A. Pursuant to RCW 35.27.180, there is created the position of clerk-treasurer. The position of treasurer shall be combined with that of clerk, and all statutory duties of treasurer shall be assumed by the clerk.

B. The clerk-treasurer shall be appointed by the mayor. The clerk-treasurer shall serve at the pleasure of the mayor. (Ord. 1709 § 1, 2021)

2.10.020 Duties and responsibilities.

A. In addition to duties and powers set forth by Chapter 35.27 RCW, the clerk-treasurer shall exercise all the powers and perform all duties of the clerk or treasurer required by statute, ordinance or other regulation of the town.

B. The clerk-treasurer is appointed to be the recipient of claims and lawsuits brought against the town. No other person is authorized to be served or receive such claims or lawsuits on behalf of the town. (Ord. 1709 § 1, 2021)

2.10.030 Compensation.

Compensation to the clerk-treasurer shall be set by ordinance. (Ord. 1709 § 1, 2021)
