2.12.010 Bond required – Amount.

The clerk of the city is required to enter into and execute a good and sufficient bond to the city in the sum of $1,000, conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of his office and of all offices of which he shall be ex officio incumbent, and a true and correct accounting to the city of all moneys coming into his hands for the benefit of or belonging to the city. (1964 code § 1.28.010).

2.12.020 Appointive office.

Pursuant to Chapter 365, Laws of 1955 (RCW 25.24.020), the office of city clerk is an appointive office of the city. (1964 code § 1.28.020).

2.12.030 Term of office.

The term of the appointive office is concurrent with that of the mayor. (1964 code § 1.28.030).

2.12.040 Appointment by mayor.

The mayor shall appoint the clerk subject to the approval of a majority vote of the city council. (1964 code § 1.28.040).
