2.68.010 Examination.

Residents of the city and other interested persons shall be entitled to examine the public records of the city at all reasonable times during periods when the offices of the city are open to the public. Said records may not be removed from city offices. (1964 code § 1.56.010).

2.68.020 Copy fees.

Persons desiring that city officials or employees prepare and supply copies of public records shall pay to the city the sum of $0.15 for the copy of each page requested. Any record requiring certification by a city official shall require an additional payment of $3.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page. Persons requesting copies of public records by mail shall be provided with the costs required to package and mail the documents together with the per page cost of copying and payment of those costs must be received prior to mailing. 2.68.030 Copying without charge.

Nothing in this chapter shall prevent persons from copying public records without charge, so long as the process of copying does not involve use of city equipment, nor interferes with use of the documents in the usual course by city employees. (1964 code § 1.56.030).

2.68.040 Public records index.

The city of Grandview will not maintain an index of government records pursuant to RCW 42.56.070 as such recordkeeping would be unduly burdensome on the city and its limited resources of funds and personnel to maintain such an index of records. (Ord. 2007-13 § 1).

2.68.050 Public records officer – Appointment and duties.

A. The city clerk is designated as the public records officer for the city of Grandview.

B. The public records officer shall:

1. Serve as a point of contact for members of the public in requesting disclosure of public records;

2. Oversee compliance with the public records disclosure requirements of the public disclosure law of the state of Washington as now or hereafter amended (currently in Chapter 42.56 RCW);

3. Publish his or her name and contact information in a way reasonably calculated to provide notice to the public, including posting at City Hall and other city buildings, posting on the city’s Internet website and inclusion in city publications. (Ord. 2007-13 § 2).
