10.08.010 Arterial streets designated.

The following are declared to be arterial streets in the city:

A. Wine Country Road from the east city limits to the west city limits.

B. Euclid Road from Wine Country Road to the south city limits.

C. West Fifth Street from Puterbaugh to Elm Street.

D. Wilson Highway/Grandridge Road from the north city limits south to West Fifth Street. (Ord. 2007-10 § 2).

10.08.020 Stop before entering required – Exceptions.

All vehicular traffic shall stop before entering any arterial street; provided, that traffic controlled by an automatic signal system shall so stop unless the signal indicates such traffic shall proceed; and, further provided, that such traffic shall not be required to stop when proceeding on Elm Street between Wine Country Road and the south city limits; on Euclid between West Second and West Fifth, and between West Fifth and the south city limits, and between the Union Pacific Railway and Wine Country Road; on Wine Country Road from the east city limits and along Wine Country Road to the northwest city limits; on Fifth Street west of Euclid Road to the west city limits; on Second Street between Division Street and Euclid Road and on Second Street from Euclid Road to the west city limits; on Wilson Highway north of the Union Pacific Railway right-of-way; and on Division Street between Second Street and Fifth Street; further provided, that traffic entering Stassen Way from King Street and Stassen Way from Rocky Ford Lateral, Carriage Square Drive from Coach Drive and from any private driveway or alley onto any public street shall stop before entering. 10.08.025 Stop intersections other than arterials.

In addition to the stop requirements set forth in GMC 10.08.020, stops may be required at any intersection designated by the chief of police with the approval of the city council. Said authorities shall cause to be posted and maintained proper signs of the standard design adopted by the State Highway Commission. It is unlawful for any person operating any vehicle when entering any intersection determined, designated and bearing the sign designated herein to fail and neglect to bring such vehicle to a complete stop before entering such intersection. 10.08.030 Violation – Penalty.

Violation of this section is a civil infraction and shall result in a fine in an amount set forth in the State of Washington Infraction Bail Schedule. (Ord. 2007-10 § 2).
