Any business accepting or executing a contract with the City shall obtain a business license, irrespective of whether the business will deliver goods or services within the City, whether the business’s office or place of business is within or without the City, or whether the business is otherwise engaged in business in the City as defined in IMC 5.02.040(E); provided, this section shall not apply to vendors of off-the-shelf software products, even if such software comes with customer support, as long as the customer support is not being provided by employees of the vendor who are physically located within the City. Vendors of customized software products who contract with the City will be required to obtain a City business license. (Ord. 2972 § 1 (Exh. A), 2022).
