5.02.080 Fees – Fee waivers – Time for payment – Penalty.
A. The fee for each initial business license required by this chapter shall be $60.00 per year plus the handling fee charged by Business Licensing Service pursuant to RCW 19.02.075. The fee for renewal of each business license shall be $50.00 per year plus the handling fee charged by Business Licensing Service pursuant to RCW 19.02.075.
B. Fee Exemptions. The following persons or businesses engaging in business in the City shall be required to obtain a business license and to pay the handling fee charged by Business Licensing Service pursuant to RCW 19.02.075, but are not subject to the City license fee set forth in this section:
1. Persons or businesses who engage in business within the City as defined in IMC 5.02.040(E), but that do not maintain a physical place of business within the City and whose annual value of products sold, gross proceeds of sales, or gross business income derived from engaging in business within the City does not exceed $3,000. All persons who engage in business within the City as defined in IMC 5.02.040(E) and that do maintain a physical place of business within the City shall be required to pay the license fees established by the City regardless of the amount of gross business income derived from engaging in business within the City.
2. Nonprofit organizations engaging in business within the City, provided such organization provides valid documentation of federal tax exemption under Section 501(c)(3), (4) or (10) of the Internal Revenue Code. (Ord. 2972 § 1 (Exh. A), 2022).
