2.96.010 Personal and unauthorized use unlawful.

From and after the passage and posting of the ordinance codified in this chapter, it is unlawful for any officer or employee of the city, or any other person, engaged in the business of the city, or any other person whomsoever, to use or drive any automobile, truck or other vehicle belonging to the city in any other than the lawful business of the city; provided, that this chapter shall not restrict or prevent officers and employees of the city from using such city vehicles for the purpose of making outside trips to attend meetings or conventions relating to their duties as such officers and employees, when such trips are first approved by the city manager. 2.96.020 Vehicle assignment.

Only the following full-time city employees may be assigned use of city vehicles at the discretion and under the terms as determined by the city manager: city manager, police chief, director of public works and superintendent of public works or others by assignment by city manager.
