10.24.010 Established.

There is hereby established in conjunction with Consolidated Diking Improvement District No. 3 and Drainage Improvement District No. 1 of the county certain trails in the city which shall be for the recreational use of bicycles and pedestrians. (Ord. 3357 § 1, 1997; Prior code § 12.54.010)

10.24.020 Unlawful acts designated—Exceptions.

A. It shall be unlawful for any person to suffer or permit any horses or livestock on such trails or to operate any automobile, truck, motorcycle, motorbike or other motorized vehicle on any bicycle-pedestrian trail designated pursuant to this chapter.

B. This section shall not apply to persons operating authorized maintenance vehicles of the diking district or the city in the performance of maintenance duties on the dikes or trails or the operation of any law enforcement or emergency vehicle while in the performance of their duties. 10.24.030 Signposting—Powers.

The superintendent of public works or other appropriate official shall designate the location of such trails by the posting of signs to adequately inform the public thereof and further inform the public of the prohibitions contained in Section 10.24.020 of this chapter. 10.24.040 Violation—Penalty.

Violations of this chapter shall constitute traffic infractions and be dealt with in accordance with RCW Chapter 46.63. (Ord. 3357 § 1, 1997; Prior code § 12.54.040)
