PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD

2.37.010 Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

A. The parks and recreation advisory board is hereby created. The board shall be advisory to the city council and mayor, with primary responsibility for advising on park master plan development, recreation program evaluation and development, and park comprehensive planning.

B. The parks and recreation advisory board shall be comprised of no more than seven voting members who reside in, own property in, or own a business in the city. In addition to the seven voting members, there will be three student advisory, nonvoting positions, enrolled in high school or college. Members shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for reasonable expenses pursuant to city policies.

C. Member appointments, removal, and terms shall be the same as for members of the planning commission in Chapter 2.22 LFPMC.

D. The board shall elect from its members a chair, who shall preside at all meetings, and a vice-chair. The majority of the board shall constitute a quorum, and a majority vote of those present shall be necessary for any action.

E. The board shall meet six times per year, with additional meetings as determined by the board. All meetings shall be subject to the Open Public Meetings Act. (Ord. 1307 § 1, 2025; Ord. 1171 § 1, 2018)
