CITY ATTORNEY AND ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEYS*

2.18.010 City attorney – Qualifications.

No person shall be appointed as the city attorney for the city unless he or she is at the time of his or her appointment a member in good standing of the Washington State Bar Association. (Ord. 2552 § 1, 1994; Ord. 1347 § 1, 1967; Ord. 1316 § 2, 1966; Ord. 546 § 3, 1948).

2.18.020 Assistant city attorneys – Qualifications.

All assistant city attorneys shall be duly licensed attorneys-at-law and members in good standing of the Washington State Bar Association, or legal interns under the provisions of Admission to Practice Roles of the Washington State Supreme Court. (Ord. 2552 § 1, 1994; Ord. 1347 § 2, 1967).

2.18.030 Assistant city attorneys – Duties.

The assistant city attorneys shall perform such duties and render such services of a legal nature as shall be assigned to them by the city attorney. (Ord. 2552 § 1, 1994; Ord. 1347 § 2, 1967).

2.18.040 City attorney and assistant city attorneys – Compensation.

The city attorney and the assistant city attorneys shall receive such compensation and employment benefits as shall be provided for them in and by the annual budget of the city. (Ord. 2552 § 1, 1994; Ord. 1347 § 2, 1967).
