11.24.010 Increasing state speed limits in certain zones.

It is hereby determined, upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation, that the speed permitted upon certain streets or portions of streets, hereinafter described, is less than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles thereon by reasons of the designation of said streets as arterial highways, or by way of reason of widely spaced intersections, and it is hereby declared that the speed limit upon those streets or portions thereof hereinafter described shall be as hereinafter stated, which speeds so declared shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected.

11.24.015 Reducing speed limits in certain zones.

It is determined, upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation, that the speed permitted upon certain streets or portions of streets, hereinafter described, is too great to promote the safety and welfare of citizens by reasons of the narrow improved width of the streets, or heavy pedestrian traffic; and it is declared that the speed limit upon those streets or portions thereof hereafter described shall be as hereinafter stated, which speeds so declared shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected:

11.24.020 Regulation of speed by traffic signals.

The director of public works is authorized to regulate the timing of traffic signals so as to permit the movement of traffic in an orderly and safe manner. (Ord. 1517 § 31-27, 1971).

11.24.030 Speed limits in alleys.

No person shall operate a vehicle in excess of 15 miles per hour in any alley. (Ord. 1517 § 31-28, 1971).
