16.28.010 Numbers for new buildings.

All buildings hereafter erected within the city and fronting on a public street shall be assigned a street number or numbers by the building inspector of the city, and before any such building may be occupied such number or numbers shall be displayed thereon in such a manner as to be clearly visible from the public street upon which such building fronts. (Ord. 1345 § 1, 1967).

16.28.020 Numbers for existing buildings.

All buildings heretofore existing within the city and fronting on a public street shall display thereon such street number or numbers as may have heretofore been, or, upon request shall be, assigned to such buildings by the building inspector of the city in such a manner as to be clearly visible from the public street upon which such building fronts. (Ord. 1345 § 1, 1967).

16.28.025 Building numbers for buildings having alley access.

All buildings having vehicular access to alleys in the city shall display thereon such street number or numbers as may have been, or, upon request shall be, assigned to such buildings by the building inspector of the city in such manner as to be clearly visible from such alley. (Ord. 2611 § 9, 1995).

16.28.030 Notice to display building numbers.

Whenever it comes to the attention of the building inspector that any building within the city does not display the correct street number or numbers in accordance with this chapter, he may mail or deliver a written notice to the owner or occupier of said building, requiring the assigned street number or numbers to be displayed on said building, as heretofore required in this chapter, within 30 days of the date of said written notice. 16.28.040 Failure to display number – Misdemeanor.

It is a misdemeanor for the owner or occupier of any building to fail to display upon the building owned or occupied by him and fronting on a public street, the street number or numbers assigned by the building inspector in the manner required by the provisions of this chapter. (Ord. 1345 § 1, 1967).
