ACTIVITY CENTER AND COMMUNITY CENTER

12.30.010 Activity center and community center use.

A. The primary purpose of the Milton Activity Center is to serve and enhance the lives of older adults by providing services and support which enable them to maintain healthy and active lives and maintain independent living and to provide a facility for community activities and services. The activity center and community center promotes social, health, recreational and educational opportunities for members of the community.

B. Normal hours of operation for the activity center and community center shall be designated by the city administrator or mayor. Activities may occur at other specified times, to include weekends, as approved by the activity center coordinator, city administrator or mayor.

C. Priority use of the activity center and community center shall be established as follows:

1. Senior citizen scheduled activities for the activity center.

2. General governmental functions.

3. Other governmental entities.

4. Civic nonprofit organizations serving the residents of the city of Milton.

5. Private entities living or working in the city of Milton.

6. All others.

D. The city administrator or mayor is authorized to implement administrative procedures necessary to implement the provisions of this chapter. (Ord. 1727 § 1, 2008).

12.30.020 Rental fees.

A. The activity center and community center shall be available for private rentals at times designated by the activity center coordinator in accordance with the city’s fees and charges resolution.

B. All rental fees or deposits may be waived by the city administrator or mayor on a case-by-case basis. No user fee shall be charged to governmental entities using the activity center or community center in an official capacity. (Ord. 1727 § 1, 2008).
