HOUSE NUMBERING REQUIREMENTS

15.10.010 Purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to promote and to protect the public health, safety, and general welfare of the people of Milton and to further assist any emergency vehicle in the location of addresses in an emergency situation. (Ord. 1085 § 1, 1988).
15.10.020 Requirements – All new structures.
All new construction or tenant improvements shall have addressing numbers or letters of not less than six inches in height and that shall be of such color as to contrast with the background, be retroreflective, and be placed in such a manner that will be plainly visible at night. (Ord. 2050 § 10, 2022; Ord. 1085 § 1, 1988).
15.10.030 Maintenance.
It is the responsibility of the property owner to maintain either the numbers on the structure or the post with the numbers. (Ord. 1085 § 1, 1988).
15.10.040 Violation – Penalty.
Violation of any of the terms of this chapter is a misdemeanor, and any person, firm or corporation found guilty thereof shall be punishable as set forth in Chapter 1.08 MMC. (Ord. 1085 § 1, 1988).
