16.28.010 Standard specifications and city engineer construction supervision authority.

Physical developments and improvements required by this title shall be designed and installed in accordance with applicable construction standards of the city. Construction shall be performed under the supervision of the city engineer. (Ord. 979 §7.09, 1975).

16.28.030 Curbs.

All streets shall be improved at each edge of the paved roadway with curbs of either portland cement concrete of a design approved by the city engineer or curbs of such design or material as may be approved by the city engineer. Such curbs shall be similar in design and construction to curbs adopted as standard for the city unless special conditions warrant the waiver of this requirement by the commission. 16.28.040 Storm sewers.

Surface drainage from streets and other areas shall be disposed of through an adequate system of gutters and storm sewers. (Ord. 979 §7.03, 1975).

16.28.050 Sanitary sewers--Design specifications.

If a public sanitary or combined sewer is available for connection within five hundred feet of the subdivision, the subdivision shall be provided with a complete sanitary sewer system serving each lot designed for human habitation. Design of sewage disposal system shall be in accordance with Washington Pollution Control Commission requirements. (Ord. 979 §7.04, 1975).

16.28.060 Potable water system--Design specifications.

If a public water main is available for connection within five hundred feet of the subdivision, the subdivision shall be provided with a potable water distribution system serving each lot designed for human habitation, and unless equal protection can be otherwise supplied, shall be provided with fire hydrants at each street intersection and at approximately six-hundred-foot intervals on each street between intersections. Water distribution systems shall be designed in accordance with National Board of Fire Underwriters recommendations. (Ord. 979 §7.05, 1975).

16.28.070 Street name signs.

Street signs corresponding in design to those adopted as standard for the city shall be installed at each intersection for convenient identification of streets. (Ord. 979 §7.06, 1975).

16.28.080 Capacity for future developments.

The capacities and dimensions of water, sewerage, drainage and street facilities shall be adequate to provide for the future needs of other undeveloped properties in the general vicinity, and the city may share in the cost of these improvements to the extent of the difference in cost between the capacities needed to serve the subdivision and the capacities required to serve the vicinity. 16.28.090 Underground installations.

Installations such as lines, wires, cables and pipes providing service for electricity, sewers, water, gas, telephone and other utilities shall be placed underground in any subdivisions created after April 22, 1975, in the city and shall meet city specifications for such underground installations.
