FLEET MANAGEMENT AND EQUIPMENT RENTAL FUND

3.40.010 Established.

There is hereby established and created a special revolving fund to be known as the “Fleet Management and Equipment Rental Fund” pursuant to Chapter 67 of the 1963 Session Laws of the State of Washington for the purpose of paying salaries, wages, operations and overhead costs required for the repair, replacement and purchase of equipment. (Ord. 2497 § 1, 2008).

3.40.020 Payments and disbursements.

Any such equipment, materials and supplies may be rented for the use of the various offices and departments of the City or same may be rented by the City to other governmental agencies. All proceeds or payments received from the sale or rental of any such property shall be placed into said fund and all disbursements for purchases or payment of rentals for any such property shall likewise be made from monies available in said fund. 3.40.030 Charges for costs incurred.

Costs incurred by the Fleet Management and Equipment Rental Fund for operating and maintaining the equipment shall be charged to the users of the equipment at a rate of actual cost to the City.

Costs incurred by the Fleet Management and Equipment Rental Fund for overhead items such as insurance, building maintenance and general management shall be charged to the users of the equipment on a prorated basis determined by the value of equipment and vehicles assigned to those users. 3.40.040 Administration.

The City Manager, or whomever he shall designate, is hereby designated to administer the operations of said “Fleet Management and Equipment Rental Fund” to determine the terms of any such rental or purchase for the use of any such property by any department or office. The City Manager shall also designate the person responsible for keeping the books, accounts, and records of the fund. (Ord. 2497 § 1, 2008).
