13.35.010 Requirements for pressure regulating valves.

A pressure regulating valve is required on any water service to any customer where it has been determined by the City that a static pressure in excess of 80 pounds per square inch may be expected. The pressure regulating valve shall be designed and installed in such manner to assure that a pressure below 80 pounds per square inch is maintained at every outlet within the building or structure regardless of any variation in water flows. (Ord. 1190, 1978; Ord. 1171 § 1, 1977).

13.35.020 New services.

The installation of an acceptable pressure regulating valve shall be a prerequisite to any new water service where it has been determined by the City that pressures over 80 pounds per square inch may be possible. The cost of such pressure regulating valve shall be borne by the builder or the developer. (Ord. 1190, 1978; Ord. 1171 § 2, 1977).

13.35.030 Pre-existing services.

The cost of the required pressure regulator and its installation shall be borne by the user for all pre-existing accounts. The City of Mountlake Terrace shall insure that all such accounts are advised of the static pressures to which they might be subjected. (Ord. 1171 § 3, 1977).
