19.105.010 Purpose and intent.

The purpose and intent of the PFS district is to efficiently regulate publicly owned facilities and related services. (Ord. 2074 § 4.20(A), 1995).

19.105.020 Permitted uses.

Permitted uses in the PFS district are limited to the following:

A. Public Service Facilities.

1. Disaster emergency facilities, temporary;

2. Fire/aid car stations;

3. Libraries;

4. Municipal office buildings;

5. Police stations;

6. Public work facilities;

7. Recycling collection stations;

8. Storm drainage facilities;

9. City-owned property devoted to public use such as street rights-of-way, or other similar uses.

B. Recreation/Entertainment.

1. Recreation facilities, publicly owned.

C. Transportation Facilities.

1. Bus stops/shelter stations;

2. Electric vehicle charging stations, charging levels 1, 2, and 3.

D. Other.

1. Temporary storage of construction equipment and materials for projects within the City; provided, that: (a) fencing or landscaping may be installed, in consultation with the Community and Economic Development Director, to at least partially screen the equipment and materials from public view; and (b) such storage shall be for a period of no more than 18 months for any single off-site construction project, except that a six-month extension may be granted if the use has been determined by the Community and Economic Development Director to not interfere with other immediate public needs for the site. 19.105.030 Conditional uses.

Conditional uses in the PFS district are limited to the following:

A. Public Service Facilities:

1. Disaster emergency facilities, permanent;

2. Public utility facilities;

B. Transportation Facilities:

1. Parking garages/lots. (Ord. 2074 § 4.20(C), 1995).

19.105.040 Accessory uses.

Accessory uses in the PFS district shall be limited to the following:

A. Storage buildings. (Ord. 2174 § 3, 1997; Ord. 2074 § 4.20(D), 1995).

19.105.050 Dimensional regulations.

The following minimum dimensional requirements shall apply uniformly to all development within the PFS district:

A. Abutting Residential Zone Districts and Residential Uses. All buildings, structures, tanks, electrical components, and other similar features shall be set back a minimum of 20 feet from all property lines.

B. Abutting All Other Zoning Districts. All buildings, structures, tanks, electrical components, and other similar features shall be set back a minimum of 10 feet from all property lines. (Ord. 2074 § 4.20(E), 1995).

19.105.060 Special use.

19.105.070 Temporary sleeping quarters.

A temporary use of a mobile or modular unit to provide sleeping quarters for public employees while on duty may be permitted for up to one year. The permit is eligible for two administrative extensions of up to one year each during construction or remodeling of permanent quarters. (Ord. 2368 § 1, 2004).
