2.16.010 Attorney’s duties.

In addition to the duties prescribed by the laws of the state, the city attorney for the city shall:

A.    Attend only those regular and special meetings of the city council when specifically directed to do so by the mayor;

B.    Draft or approve all ordinances, leases, and conveyances and such other instruments as may be required by the business of the city;

C.    Attend any work meetings of the city council and any meetings of the city planning commission when specifically directed to do so by the mayor of the city;

D.    Represent the city with respect to all police court actions. (Ord. 316 § 1, 1978: Ord. 171 § 1, 1969)

2.16.020 Compensation.

The city attorney shall receive fees and expenses in such amounts as are determined by contract entered into between the city and the city attorney. (Ord. 1164 § 4, 2007: Ord. 316 § 2, 1978: Ord. 280 § 2, 1976)
