COMPENSATION OF MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS*

2.64.010 Compensation of councilmembers.

A.    City Council Positions 1, 2 and 3. The compensation paid to city council positions 1, 2 and 3 shall be thirty-five dollars per full city council meeting, with no limit to the number of meetings. Effective January 1, 1998, the compensation paid to city council positions 1, 2 and 3 shall be five hundred dollars per month.

B.    City Council Positions 4, 5, 6 and 7. The compensation paid to city council positions 4, 5, 6 and 7 shall be thirty-five dollars per full city council meeting, with no limit to the number of meetings. Effective January 1, 1998, the compensation paid to these positions shall be converted from a per meeting basis of thirty-five dollars per meeting to a monthly basis of one hundred seventy-five dollars per month. Effective January 1, 2000, the compensation paid to these positions shall be five hundred dollars per month.

C.    City Council President. The position of city council president or alternate city council president shall be paid an additional five dollars per meeting served as city council president, with a maximum of fifty dollars additional per month. Effective January 1, 2000, the compensation paid to the city council president shall be fifty dollars per month which shall be in addition to the regular compensation paid to other city councilmembers.

This compensation shall expire upon the revocation of the duties of city council president by the mayor or upon the expiration of the city council president’s or alternate’s term, whichever occurs first. (Ord. 906 § 1 (part), 1997: Ord. 438 § 1, 1983: Ord. 233 § 1, 1973)

2.64.020 Compensation of mayor.
