1.24.010 Official posting places.

The following three public places are des­ignated as the official posting places for city notices:

A. City Hall;

B. Post Office;

C. Library. (Ord. 552 § 1, 1982).

1.24.020 Ordinance posting.

Ordinances adopted by the city council will be published by printing and posting in the three official posting places for city notices. Printing includes typewriting and photocopies thereof. (Ord. 552 § 2, 1982).

1.24.030 Effective date of ordinances.

Pursuant to RCW 35A.12.130, no ordi­nance shall take effect until five days after the date of its publication unless otherwise pro­vided by statute; except that an ordinance passed by a majority plus one of the whole membership of the council, designated therein as a public emergency ordinance necessary for the protection of public health, public safety, public property or the public peace, may be made effective upon adoption, but such an emergency ordinance may not levy taxes, grant, renew, or extend a franchise, or authorize the borrowing of money. (Ord. 552 § 3, 1982).

1.24.040 Prior inconsistent ordinances.

Any prior ordinances which may indicate different effective dates for ordinances, or dif­ferent publication requirements in order for ordinances to become effective, are deemed repealed to the extent they may be inconsis­tent, so as to conform to the requirements of Chapter 35A.12 RCW and this chapter. (Ord. 552 § 4, 1982).
