1.20.010  Violation—Penalty.

A. Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of the city shall be guilty of a gross misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars, except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any ordinance. Any person convicted of a misdemeanor under any ordinance of the city shall be punished by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars, except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by any such ordinance.

B. Each such person shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the ordinances of the city is committed, continued or permitted by any such person, and he shall be punished accordingly. Nothing contained in this section shall preclude the city from imposing by ordinance a more severe penalty as may be allowed by state statutes.
