8.08.010 Established.

There is established a city-owned and operated ambulance service for the citizens, residents, and property owners of Ocean Shores, visitors to Ocean Shores, and certain surrounding rural areas. (Ord. 804 § 1 (part), 2006)

8.08.020 Primary area to be served.

The primary area to be served by the ambulance service shall be within the incorporated limits of the city of Ocean Shores. Response to emergencies outside the city limits shall be governed by interlocal agreements approved by the city council, or at the discretion of the city fire chief. (Ord. 804 § 1 (part), 2006)

8.08.030 Schedule of fees.

A.    There is established a schedule of fees for emergency medical services, supplies, and transport, which fees shall be as set forth in the current fee schedule resolution.

B.    The resolution shall have base rates for residents and property owners within the city limits.

C.    The resolution shall have base rates for visitors and nonresidents of the city.

D.    Additional charges for selected advance life-support techniques, supplies, and mileage will be charged in addition to the base rate.

E.    All emergency service bills which are not paid within ninety days of the first billing will be subject to collection action. All such unpaid bills shall be charged interest at the rate of one percent per month on the unpaid balance, and shall be subject to all legal and equitable remedies.

8.08.040 Funds to be deposited in emergency medical services fund.

All funds received from the operation of the ambulance service shall be deposited in the emergency medical services fund created in Section 3.12.060. (Ord. 804 § 1 (part), 2006)
