12.24.010 Maintenance required.

Every person having the ownership, management, use or control of any irrigating ditch, canal or flume, wholly or in part, within the city limits shall carefully maintain the same so that water flowing through such ditch, canal or flume will not flood or damage the premises of others within the city limits. (Ord. 16 § 1, 1908)

12.24.020 Interference or obstruction.

It is unlawful for any person within the city limits to tamper with, damage, injure or obstruct any irrigating ditch or flume so as to impede the flow of water through the same or to cause the same to break or overflow or to detract from its usefulness. (Ord. 16 § 2, 1908)

12.24.030 Permitting overflow or flooding.

It is unlawful for any person having the ownership, charge or control of any irrigating ditch or flume within the city limits to permit water therefrom to flow upon or flood any of the streets or alleys of the city so as to render the same icy or muddy and thereby endanger or impede traffic on such streets or alleys. (Ord. 16 § 3, 1908)

12.24.040 Violation – Penalty.

Any person offending against any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not less than $1.00 nor more than $100.00 and the costs of prosecution. (Ord. 16 § 4, 1908)
