21.1.1 Position Descriptions

I.    The City of Olympia Human Resources Division is responsible for developing and maintaining written job descriptions for all Department positions.

II.    All written job descriptions contain task analysis information, including, but not limited to the following:

A.    Essential Functions;

B.    Typical Qualifications;

C.    Contacts;

D.    Supervision;

E.    Accountability;

F.    Working conditions;

G.    Special requirements.

III.    All Department job descriptions are developed by human resources professionals with input from Department supervisory and management staff.

IV.    Periodic review and updating of job tasks is conducted by division managers. Results of task reviews are provided to the Human Resources Division for incorporation into job descriptions.
