OPERATION OF VEHICLES ON CITY PROPERTY

9.42.010 Motor vehicles on park property.

(a)    Park Property. The parks and park areas designated by the city as “park property” for the purposes of this section.

(b)    Parking Regulations. No person shall stand or park any motor vehicle between the hours of eleven p.m. and five a.m. of the following day in any area of the park or upon any park property which is posted by signs giving notice of such parking restrictions. Subject to approval by the city council, the city administrator shall designate park areas in which such parking restrictions shall be in effect and shall cause to be posted signs giving notice thereof.

(c)    Speed Limits. No person shall operate any motor vehicle in any park or upon any park property in excess of twenty miles per hour, or in excess of fifteen miles per hour where signs are posted giving notice of such fifteen miles per hour speed limit. Subject to approval by the city council, the city administrator shall designate roadways and park areas in which such fifteen miles per hour speed limit shall be in effect and shall cause to be posted signs giving notice thereof.

(d)    Penalty. Any violation of this section shall be a traffic infraction subject to a monetary penalty as provided in Section 9.01.030; provided, that the minimum penalty imposed shall be not less than fifty dollars. (Ord. 1593 § 2, 2023).
