7.08.010 Definitions.

A. “Livestock” means horses, sheep, goats, cows, hogs, poultry and rabbits.

B. “Person” means firms, corporations, associations, partnerships, societies and individuals.

C. “Residence” means any building or part of a building used for the purpose of a human habitation or dwelling. (Ord. 448 §1, 1953).

7.08.020 Prohibited generally.

It is unlawful for any person or persons to keep or maintain livestock within the city limits except as hereinafter provided. (Ord. 448 §2, 1953).

7.08.030 Enclosure – Required.

All livestock shall be kept within an enclosure adequately built and maintained to prevent livestock from breaking through, out or over or under the enclosure. (Ord. 448 §3, 1953).

7.08.040 Enclosure – Distance from residence.

All livestock except hogs may be kept or maintained within the city limits, provided that they are kept within an enclosure as described in PMC 7.08.030, the outside limits of which shall not be less than one hundred feet from the nearest residence. (Ord. 448 §4, 1953).

7.08.050 Hog enclosure requirements.

Hogs may be kept or maintained within the city limits, provided they are kept within an enclosure as described in PMC 7.08.030, the outside limits of which shall not be less than two hundred feet from the nearest residence. (Ord. 448 §4, 1953).

7.08.060 Manure accumulation.

No person or persons shall permit an accumulation of manure or other refuse on real property owned or occupied by such person or person within the city limits to remain on such property for a period of longer than one week. (Ord. 448 §6, 1953).

7.08.070 Violation – Penalty.

A. Any person violating this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine of not exceeding $100.00 for each separate offense.

B. Each and every day on which a violation of this chapter occurs and continues shall be considered a separate offense. (Ord. 448 §§7, 8, 1953).
