SPEED LIMITS

10.08.010 Increased in certain zones.

A.    It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law upon those streets or portions thereof described in subsection B of this section is less than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles thereon by reason of the designation and signposting of the streets as arterial highways, or by reason of widely spaced intersections, and it is declared that the speed limit upon those streets or portions thereof described in subsection B of this section shall be as therein stated, which speeds so declared shall be effective at the times specified therein when signs are erected giving notice thereof, but in no case shall the speed limit exceed thirty-five miles per hour.

B.    In accordance with subsection A of this section, as it presently exists or may hereinafter be amended, and when signs are erected giving notice thereof, and when the limit is approved by the Washington State Secretary of Transportation as required by RCW 46.61.415, speed limits shall be as follows:

1.    Bond Road N.E., from Front Street N.E. to the city limits, thirty-five miles per hour;

2.    Viking Avenue N.W., from the south city limits to the intersection of Washington State Highway 305, thirty-five miles per hour;

3.    Washington State Highway 305, from the intersection with Lincoln Road N.E. south to the city limits, thirty-five miles per hour. 10.08.020 Decreased in certain zones—Schedule IV.

In accordance with Section 25 of Ordinance 392 as the same now stands and may hereinafter be amended, and when signs are erected giving notice thereof, and after the Washington State Secretary of Transportation shall have approved the speed limits when required by RCW 46.61.415, the speed limits shall be as follows:

A.    Front Street N.E. from Hostmark Street N.E. to the northern property line of Gran Kirk Building, located at 19083 Front Street N.E., and Hostmark Street N.E., from 3rd Avenue N.E. to Front Street N.E., fifteen miles per hour;

B.    Hamilton Court N.E., from Jensen Way N.E. to Hamilton Field, twenty miles per hour;

C.    1st Avenue N.E., from Hamilton Court N.E. to dead end, twenty miles per hour;

D.    Anderson Parkway, ten miles per hour;

E.    10th Avenue N.E., twenty miles per hour;

F.    11th Avenue N.E., twenty miles per hour;

G.    N.E. Ridgewood Drive, N.E. Ridgewood Street, N.E. Edgewood Court, N.E. Ridgewood Court, N.E. Briarwood Court, N.E. Heartwood Court, N.E. Glenwood Court, N.E. Crestwood Court, 22nd Avenue N.E., and 23rd Avenue N.E., fifteen miles per hour;

H.    N.E. Torval Canyon, twenty miles per hour;

I.    Caldart Avenue N.E., both directions, from Hostmark Street N.E. to N.E. Lincoln Road, twenty miles per hour when children are present (school zone);

J.    Bjermeland Place N.E., fifteen miles per hour;

K.    Hostmark Street N.E., from 15th Loop N.E. easterly to city limits (Noll Road), twenty miles per hour when children are present (school zone);

L.    N.E. Lincoln Road, from Antonson Place N.E., easterly to Highway 305, twenty miles per hour when children are present (school zone);

M.    Mosjon Circle N.E., twenty miles per hour;

N.    Stavanger Loop N.E. and Stavanger Place N.E., twenty miles per hour;

O.    1st Avenue N.E. from Sunset Street N.E. to N.E. Union Street, twenty miles per hour;

P.    2nd Avenue N.E. from N.E. Myreboe to N.E. Union Street, twenty miles per hour;

Q.    Jensen Way N.E., south from Sunset Street N.E. to Front Street N.E., twenty miles per hour;

R.    N.E. Union Street, twenty miles per hour;

S.    N.E. Myreboe Street, twenty miles per hour;

T.    13th Avenue N.E., twenty miles per hour;

U.    15th Loop N.E., twenty miles per hour;

V.    N.E. Odin Street, twenty miles per hour; and
