GENERAL PENALTY*

1.28.010    Applicability.

*    For statutory authority for noncharter code cities to adopt and enforce ordinances of all kinds relating to their local affairs and imposing penalties of fines not exceeding five hundred dollars or imprisonment for any term not exceeding six months, or both, for the violation of such ordinances, see RCW 35A.11.010; for statutory provision that the violation of any ordinance of a town shall be a misdemeanor and may be prosecuted by the authorities thereof in the name of the People of the State of Washington or may be redressed by civil action, see RCW 35.27.320 and 35A.11.020.

1.28.010 Applicability.

Every person convicted by the municipal court of a violation of the criminal provisions of an ordinance for which no punishment is specifically prescribed in the ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than five thousand dollars or imprisonment in jail for a period not to exceed one year, or both such fine and imprisonment.
