3.51.010 Definitions.

The following definitions shall apply throughout this chapter:

“Dial-a-ride” means any request for Prosser rural transit service made within twenty-four hours of the requested pick-up time and which request cannot be accommodated by fixed route service.

“Fixed route” means a scheduled service route established more than twenty-four hours in advance of the day on which pick-up service is to be provided by Prosser Rural Transit. Scheduled service routes shall be established by Prosser rural transit supervisor or her designee.

“General public” means any person who is not a senior citizen.

“Senior citizen” means any person who is sixty-five years of age or older.

“Zone I” means the geographic area located within the city limits of the city of Prosser.

“Zone II” means the geographic area located outside the city limits of the city of Prosser. (Ord. 1826 § 1 (part), 1995: Ord. 1726 § 2, 1994).

3.51.020 Fares—Zone I.

The following fares shall be charged for each person from the point of pick-up to the point of delivery within Zone I:

3.51.030 Fares—Zone II.

The following rates shall be charged for each person from the point of pick-up to the point of delivery within Zone II:

3.51.040 Group fares—Definition—Rates.

A.    A group of persons, in order to quality for a group rate must meet all of the following criteria:

1.    The minimum number of persons, regardless of age must be six;

2.    Travel must be entirely within the city limits of the city;

3.    All persons in the group must have the same destination, must travel together and must be returned to the same point of pick-up; and

4.    The group must arrange for the trip at least twenty-four hours in advance of pick-up.

B.    The cost for each group member will be seventy cents per member per round trip. (Ord. 1826 § 2, 1995).
