9.10.010 Interference deemed misdemeanor.

Every person who in any manner interferes with the driving, running, conduct or operation of any fire wagons, fire trucks or fire apparatus belonging to the city, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor; provided, that this section shall not apply to firemen discharging their duties. (Ord. 2105 § 2, 1986; Ord. 1521 § 44, 1968).

9.10.020 Driver duties when fire vehicle approaches.

When any fire wagons, fire trucks or fire apparatus are being driven through the streets of the city, all vehicles of every description and kind, upon the approach of the same, shall at once be driven by the person in charge thereof to the sides of the street next to the curbs and there stopped until the fire wagons, fire trucks, or fire apparatus have passed for at least 200 feet. (Ord. 2105 § 2, 1986; Ord. 1521 § 45, 1968).

9.10.030 Vehicle clearance required.

No vehicle of any kind shall be driven along the side of or within 200 feet of any fire wagon, fire truck or fire apparatus when the vehicle is being driven on the street of the city, nor shall any vehicle be allowed within 200 feet of any fire wagons, fire trucks or fire apparatus while the same are being operated at a fire. (Ord. 2105 § 2, 1986; Ord. 1521 § 46, 1968).

9.10.040 Riding upon or interfering with vehicles prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person or persons, except members of the Puyallup fire department, city officials and individuals invited by the chief of the fire department, or the driver of the fire truck, to mount, stand upon, ride upon, or in any way interfere or molest the fire truck or automobile of said city, or to in any way or manner obstruct or interfere with the said fire department while said department is going to, going from, or attending any fire. 9.10.050 Violation of PMC 9.10.040.

Any person violating any of the provisions of PMC 9.10.040, shall upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not to exceed $10.00. (Ord. 2105 § 2, 1986; Ord. 622 § 2, 1917).
